We start each batch of freshly made tallow with 100% grass fed / grass finished beef suet from a butcher local to Arizona. We render the beef suet at low temperatures to create a clean, healthy concoction of grass fed beef tallow. We don't render our tallow at high temperatures in an attempt to maintain the delicate and very important fatty acids, vitamins and minerals that exist in tallow.
**When looking for ingredients that don't cause pore blockage in the face, we have found that commonly used ingredients like coconut oil and olive oil are pretty high on the comedogenic scale, which in short can lead to clogged pores and further acne issues.
With that being said, we chose to source organic cold pressed jojoba oil to add to our tallow elixir. Jojoba oil boasts non-comedogenic properties, resembling the skin's natural sebum and ensuring minimal pore blockage. Additionally, its potent antimicrobial qualities make it effective against various bacteria and fungi.
We also added the greatest natural source of Retinol (Vitamin A) that we could find, Bakuchiol Oil. Bakuchiol Oil is a non-irritating plant oil that possesses antioxidant properties helping neutralize free radicals and protect the skin from oxidative stress. This plant elixir has also been found to help promote cell turnover and promote collagen production reducing signs of aging and skin damage.
